Up at silly O'clock to catch the 6:38 to Bratislava and the hotel offered some beautiful sights to see me off.

As hoped the train provided some beautiful scenery for the first 90 mins... then it got a bit foggy.

Arrived in Bratislava, acquired my ticket for Budapest to depart in 3.5 hours time and proceed to give Bratislava the most cursory of glances.

Headed down to the old town and wandered around the streets a bit taking pictures of things that looked interesting and trying to “see” as many of the main things as I could. It was never going to work and I've no idea what I saw really but have a bunch of pictures. Including this of the "Blue" church.

More tourist groups than I've seen in any place so far and as the rain started to fall and my last attempt to get the single Slovakian dish I’d been told about beforehand approached I headed for Prašná Bašta. A new beer, Bernard (its name, I’m not yet in the habit of naming my pints) and a plate of Bryndzové Halušky (potato dumplings, typically described as gnocchi but not quite, with Bryndza sheep cheese and bacon). A great plate of comfort food.

Back to the station and back to Budapest in a nice quiet carriage.
