2013-11-08: Day 44 - Parental Day 1
Fairly standard working day followed by much pottering around buying milk for the first time since I've been here and straightening the place out a bit before their arrival circa 20:30.
As it was a late ish arrival we just headed down the street to where we had a table booked. Spinoza was the name and it was a nice little piano bar with a pleasing ambience and a seemingly jovial old soul tinkering the ivories.
Goose was prominent on the menu for reasons that didn't become apparent until I found out that St Martin's day (the 11th) is typically celebrated with feather based feasts of goose and duck. Fair to say that the starters trumped the mains although this was a contest between very good and merely good so no cause for distress. The same can not be said for the seeming lack interest in the notion of desert from the staff... which caused murmurs of disgruntlement from Farv.
One thing that did become apparent was exactly how annoying it is having a single serving coffee pot.
