2013-10-04: Day 9

It's a word we saw a number of times tonight.

The notion of reserving or trying to a table for a normal friday is one that I am not familiar with... not sure whether that's because a similar class of establishment in the UK wouldn't offer such a service of more likely because I don't live in a big city usually.

It seems a perfectly good and logical system and I'm sure appears even more so if you are on the right side of it.

We weren't.

So after a couple of loops of the centre we found a table in a small place and proceeded to spend about the following 4 hours there.

The total bill for two people for four hours of drinking came to under £10. Granted we weren't necking them or ordering chasers but it made a very refreshing change.

Earlier in the day we had indulged in one of the pastimes I enjoy most as a very very fleeting distraction from the continuous, furiously productive and focussed working day that I all too happily undertake (just in case anyone from work reads this).

One of the joyous things about working in a multi-cultural environment are the occasional outbursts of words that are not in the language that the office operates in. Always raises a smile and some intense googling to try and decipher what particular exclamation has just been uttered. Today's was Italian and having found a site not blocked by the work censor I can say they are a creative bunch.
