2013-10-07: Day 12
The days when I've eaten at home are in the minority and look likely to stay that way for a while but it is required on occasion.
emergency bag of crisps on standby next to a rum flavoured chocolate bar
So far I've basically got by on bread, cheese and salami with an emergency bag of crisps on standby next to a rum flavoured chocolate bar (WHY DO WE NOT HAVE THESE IN THE UK!). Not being diabetic I can just about get away with this but I should probably increase the diversity.
The problem is multi-fold. I don't know when I'll need stuff to eat so I can't buy much in the way of perishable food. Even if you buy one of enough things to make something taste interesting you end up with more than you really want for one sitting and I have no tupperware. Clearly the solution is freezer/sandwich bags. But the shop didn't have any. Well, it had some sandwich bags but they looked less fit for purpose than the bag I had my veg in.
So this is the plan.
I've cooked a pot of "stuff". It's a kind of paprika laden chicken stew-come-soup-come-pasta-sauce. I shall attempt to freeze the remnants into portions via the medium of something (probably a coffee cup) and deposit in to the bags that the veg was in... I will get proper freezer bags when at a bigger shop tomorrow but for now...
What could go wrong?
