2014-07-13: Day 4
After the usual much walking around with the vague notion of doing the areas north and east of town, which largely resulted in walking up hills in the hottest part of the day as is our usual achievement, we had a little sit down with coffee and cake.
A few more supplies from a shop and we took a winding route to Žižkov hill via a bar to shelter from the rain.
The ultimate goal of this wandering was the babies climbing the TV tower. Curious but there they were climbing up the outside of the tower. What was more curious is that they were heading aware from the crazy golf.
And it was, crazy golf. Possibly the only course I've played that I feel lives up to the name whist not featuring a windmill.
The reason? Hole 7. You had perfect line of sight from tee to green... the thing is the tee was about 6 ft in the air and the green 20 meters away with the only thing preventing you from braining other golfers, not to mention innocent if irksome passers-by were a couple of sections of netting whose placement suggested they expected only mild incompetence.
Which seems an error to me. Never be allowed in the UK and I relished it.
Needless to say I won that hole. The results for the rest of the holes are slightly fuzzier in my memory... read in to that what you will.
After that it was the walk back to find somewhere for the World Cup final. Strangely, many other people also had that idea. Tried watching the first half in the Beer Museum but with quality of TV and distance from it was pretty hopeless. Ended up watching the second half stood in the street outside a noodle bar with waitress service. Unconventional but it worked well.
